After the Nintendo Switch presentation, DotEmu's developers announced through the game's official blog that the remake of the Master System classic Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap (known in Brazil through its Brazilian adaptation, Turma da Mônica em: O Resgate) would arrive on Switch in 2017.
"A few months ago, Nintendo contacted us. A secret meeting was held in the mushroom kingdom under a veil of absolute secrecy, where they suggested that we bring the game to the future console," says the blog post. "We do not even need to say that it was a unique opportunity, and as soon as we saw the console, we knew we wanted the game on it."
The developer confirmed that the game was already running at 60 frames per second, and that "the screen and colors in handheld mode are incredible, and it runs just as well in Full HD in TV mode."
No additional details were given beyond the game's arrival on Switch, but the developer also guaranteed that the game would be released on other consoles and said that an announcement with a release date would be made soon.
