SEGA announced that Citizens of Space, made by developer Eden Industries and a sequel to Citizens of Earth, will arrive on June 18, 2019, for US$14.99. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Interestingly, the first game was published in 2015 by Atlus, a SEGA subsidiary, while the sequel is being handled by SEGA itself.

Below is the description of Citizens of Space provided by SEGA:

The sequel to Citizens of Earth, released in 2015, introduces a new combat system, deeper recruitment mechanics, and many unique worlds to explore.

As the newly elected Ambassador of Earth to the Galactic Federation of Planets, everything seems to be going well — until you arrive at Federation headquarters for your first Assembly and discover that Earth, the planet you supposedly represent, is missing! Out of a job (and a home), it is up to you to recruit citizens from across the galaxy and find out who is responsible, so you can return to your comfortable job as ambassador!

Main features:

  • Citizens unite! — You have access to more than 40 recruitable citizens, all available at any point in the story, each with their own role to fill in and out of combat. Everything has been streamlined, so you spend much less time managing and more time leading your citizens!
  • A new battle system — Put your skills to the test in a newly designed combat system, where your ability to take advantage of timing- and reflex-based mini-games makes all the difference between a crushing victory and a concession speech.
  • New worlds to explore — Earth is not the only planet with problems this time! Travel from your home planet to a variety of humorous and crazy worlds, each bringing lively art and organic environments.
