SEGA Fes is currently in full swing, and several announcements about the developer’s future have been revealed. One of these revelations is that 2019 will have another spin-off game starring Sonic, in addition to Team Sonic Racing.
The traditional Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, a crossover spin-off series involving Nintendo’s and SEGA’s mascots at the Olympic Games, will receive another title, this time set in Tokyo, where the games will take place in less than a year. This new Olympic event featuring the characters will be released for Nintendo Switch.
A mobile version of the game was also confirmed, but it will feature only characters from the Sonic series. Sonic at the Olympic Games will be released in 2020 for iOS and Android.
A version of the game without the characters, focused more on the real world and simply called Tokyo Olympic Games, will also be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
The version starring the mascots will also appear in Japanese arcades and will be released next year.
Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games will be released for Nintendo Switch in the Japanese winter of 2019, summer in Brazil.
