Last year brought SEGA Fes 2018, an event created by SEGA for its fans in Japan. The event will return in 2019, and we will probably see several exciting new announcements.
This year, it will take place on March 30 and 31 at the BelleSalle Akihabara event hall in Tokyo.
Highlights from last year's event included:
- Announcement of the Shenmue I & II rerelease for PS4 and Xbox One
- Announcement of the Mega Drive Mini
- Announcement of a new game in the Sakura Wars series
- Announcement of the enhanced classic rerelease line in the SEGA AGES series for Switch
- Announcement of the Border Break release date for PS4 in Japan
With few details available about the new Sakura Wars and the Mega Drive Mini delayed until 2019, we hope to learn more about them this year. More titles in the SEGA AGES series may also be revealed.
It is worth remembering that in late 2016, SEGA conducted a fan survey about the franchises people wanted to see return. Of the top five, three received new games or rereleases that were launched or announced: Sakura Wars, Virtual-On, and Shenmue. Perhaps the company will announce news about other franchises. We will have to wait and see!
