A study by Allied Market Research indicates that the mobile gaming market will grow significantly in the coming years, with record projections for the industry. The research estimates that the mobile game market will reach US$270 billion (approximately R$1.3 trillion) by 2032.
This milestone raises several discussions amid controversies involving large sums of money invested by individual users in content within these games, as we have already reported.
Nevertheless, the sector generated US$90.6 billion in 2022, with annual growth of 11.7%. If this pace continues, the market could exceed US$300 billion in 10 years. Mobile games currently account for one quarter of global game revenue, driven by the freemium strategy, which offers free games with in-app purchases. The greater accessibility of smartphones and tablets compared with laptops and gaming PCs also contributes to this market's expansion.
