In April, during SEGA Fes 2018, a new game in the Sakura Wars series, provisionally titled Shin Sakura Taisen, was announced. However, no information about the game was revealed except that it will take place in Tokyo during the Taisho era in 1929.

However, according to a job listing posted on Creative Job, SEGA said that it wants to hire people for the new project, including environment designers, character designers, and robot modelers.

The part that draws attention is that the job requirements include experience developing games for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One, as well as experience developing with sophisticated engines. Could this be a sign that the game will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, since they are part of the current console generation?

The new Sakura Wars project still has no confirmed platforms or release date, but according to SEGA, the game should be released by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2019.
