The Nintendo Switch opens up a new world of possibilities for video games through a console that is both a home system and portable. Fans, however, are interested in exploring the console’s capabilities beyond Nintendo’s original plan by turning it into a tablet that also runs the Android operating system.
Developers and fans Max Keller and Billy Laws spent the last few months trying to make the Switch capable of running Android Q smoothly. The project still has a great deal to improve, of course, but the console already has a fully responsive touchscreen; the Joy-Cons can also be used to play Android games, and wireless connections with other devices, such as Wi-Fi, work without difficulty.

The Switch naturally runs a mobile operating system created by Nintendo, with an Nvidia Tegra X1 processor and 4 GB of RAM. Some Android tablets have already run systems and platforms from the company. The developers therefore attempted the next step suggested by this line of reasoning, trying to make the Japanese company’s console run Android as well.
The console still cannot run the operating system perfectly, but fans promise to try to make it as accurate as possible. Technology enthusiasts will have to wait to see what comes of it.
