The trailer confirms the game's release for June 7 on Steam. Although the date is new, the port was already expected, because its existence was leaked a few days ago when it received an age rating in Korea.

Octopath Traveler stands out for its "HD-2D" art style, which mixes Super Nintendo-style sprites with modern visual effects and three-dimensional settings, thanks to Unreal Engine 4. The player can choose from 8 different characters, each with their own plot, abilities and side quests.

Among the game's well-received aspects are its visuals, innovative battle system and soundtrack. The RPG sold more than 1,500,000 units and was well received by critics (with a score of 83 on Metacritic), in addition to receiving several nominations and awards. Among them are nominations for Best RPG, Best Soundtrack and Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2018.
