As planned, details of the "P5S" project were revealed on the second day of the Persona Super Live 2019 Concert livestream. The game's final name was confirmed as Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, and a trailer was released:

Instead of an RPG, the game will be a musou — an action hack 'n' slash game in which players face waves of weaker enemies. One of the genre's most popular franchises is Dynasty Warriors.

The news surprised some fans, since many expected a port of Persona 5 or Persona 5: The Royal for Nintendo Switch. The presence of Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the Best Buy listing of Persona 5 for Switch suggested this would really happen (the "S" in "P5S" also contributed to that assumption). In the end, they got a Persona 5 game for the console, just not in the way they imagined.

Even so, games applying musou gameplay to popular franchises are no surprise on Nintendo consoles. Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors (which use characters from The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem, respectively) prove that this type of game can succeed.

In the trailer we can see the Persona Arsene beside Joker. This indicates that Personas can be summoned, so it is reasonable to expect the game to contain more gameplay elements from Persona 5 itself, giving the title a distinction. The same happened with Fire Emblem Warriors, which implemented the support system and other features from its source franchise.

The trailer confirms that Koei Tecmo is involved in development alongside Atlus. Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers has no release date yet and will launch for PlayStation 4 and Switch.
