Capcom is celebrating the download success of the Resident Evil 2 demo. Called the 1-Shot Demo, it has already been downloaded by more than 3 million users, a significant milestone for the survival-horror genre, which had been in decline for some time, with a brief resurgence from The Evil Within and new life from the release of the seventh Resident Evil.

In addition, Capcom recently announced new outfits and a new game mode for Resident Evil 2 Remake. The skins are actually classic versions of Leon and Claire, making them resemble the models from the original 1998 game, with few polygons and limited detail, clearly designed to please longtime fans.

The new game mode will be free and is called “The Ghost Survivors,” according to information reported by Eurogamer. Here, players will be able to choose between Robert Kendo, the weapons-store owner, Katherine Warren, the mayor's daughter, and one character who is still unknown. As reported, this extra mode will have new enemies and random elements, adding replay value to this mini-campaign.

UPDATE AT 2:34 PM:

A new live-action trailer has also been released to promote the game's launch.
