Shenmue III developer Ys Net and publisher Deep Silver announced that the release date, initially set for August 27, 2019, had to be postponed to November 19, 2019.

Below is the statement published by the companies responsible for Shenmue III.

"The game is nearly ready, but it still needs a little more refinement before being truly finished. (...) We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience that all players deserve."

For those who are not yet familiar with it, here is the description of Shenmue III released by Deep Silver:

Play as Ryo Hazuki, an 18-year-old Japanese martial artist seeking to avenge his father's death.

In this third installment of the epic Shenmue series, Ryo seeks to solve the mystery behind the Phoenix Mirror, an artifact sought by his father's killer. His journey takes him to an immersive representation of rural China, filled with activities and surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

Ryo's adventure takes him to mountain towns and villages where he can continue his training, try his hand at gambling, play arcade games, and work part-time while investigating those who know the truth behind the Phoenix Mirror.
