Thatgamecompany must be celebrating: it was recently announced that Sky: Children of Light (the spiritual successor to the classic and award-winning Journey) surpassed the impressive mark of one million downloads in less than a week of availability. At the moment, it is available only for iOS.
According to information provided by consulting website Sensor Tower, Sky: Children of Light ranks fourth among the biggest downloads in South Korea, sixth in Japan, and 28th in the United States.
For those unfamiliar with it, Journey is often considered the best indie game available for PlayStation 3, playing an important role during the major competition of the seventh console generation. Sky: Children of Light has many characteristics similar to its predecessor and apparently does not fall short of the expectations generated by fans from a technical standpoint.
The similarities to Journey are numerous and evident.
It is worth remembering that Sky will also be released for free on devices running the Android operating system. Although its exact availability date has not yet been announced, pre-registration can already be completed on the Play Store.
