Following the Nintendo Switch conference, SEGA made some exciting announcements. Puyo Puyo Tetris will come to PS4 and Switch in the Americas and Europe, and Sonic Mania was confirmed for release on Switch in spring 2017 (autumn in Brazil), in addition to the previously announced PS4, Xbox One and PC versions. In a way, this makes the Switch version the only portable version.

SEGA also confirmed that Sonic Mania will receive a special Collector's Edition on Switch, and you can preorder it by clicking here. Like the special edition for PS4, Xbox One and PC, it costs US$69.99 and contains:

  • A deluxe collector's box styled after Mega Drive boxes
  • A 12-inch classic Sonic statue with a Mega Drive base
  • Turn on the power switch to activate the classic "SEEEGAAA" shout
  • A metal collector's card with a download code for Sonic Mania
  • A SEGA cartridge with a golden ring
