Previously confirmed for PlayStation VR and scheduled for release this year, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash received a new PlayStation 4 trailer on Sony's official American channel.
The trailer shows some of the gameplay and confirms that the game will have a cooperative multiplayer mode, although it still does not provide a release date. Will it arrive in time for the 20th anniversary of the franchise's first game?
The New Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash Trailer
For those who do not know, the game is a virtual reality version of Space Channel 5, SEGA's Dreamcast classic, in which reporter Ulala must dance to save people from having their minds controlled by the Morolians, aliens who have invaded the planet. You have to press the buttons in time with the music to progress through the stages, which feature fun songs, simple gameplay and psychedelic environments.
In the new version, in addition to the virtual reality perspective, the player will have to perform Ulala's famous moves (left, right, up, down and "chu!") with their own body, as if they were inside the game. This version is being developed by Grounding Inc, which is composed of several longtime SEGA veterans.
