"Hidden Volcano is a lava-filled area hidden deep within Glacier Land. The area is distinguished by chunks of ice mixed with boiling lava inside an iceberg and difficult terrain created by volcanic rocks. Players must stay alert for obstacles and use skill to conquer slippery ice tracks and the different drops caused by craters and fissures in the ground. At the finish line, a lava giant occupies the track and swings its fist to block the racers' progress."

This is the first time in the series that ice and lava have appeared together in a single stage in a game, but it is not the first time that an icy area mixed with lava has appeared in the Sonic series, as the climax of the 1996 OVA took place in one.

Team Sonic Racing will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and Steam on May 21, 2019.
