Famitsu, one of Japan's largest magazines dedicated to the world of games, revealed some new information about the new racing game starring SEGA's mascot, Team Sonic Racing. Among the details was a new track called Doctor's Mine. One of the track's distinguishing features is a more cylindrical shape, like some stages in Sonic Lost World, so no player can fall off it during the race. There will be several tunnels leading to alternative routes, as well as some "daring jumps."

Team Eggman also receives the magazine's attention, with an explanation of how its lineup works. Metal Sonic is the speed type, while Zavok is the power type and Eggman is the technique type. The magazine also suggests that Dodonpa, the game's new character, may somehow be connected to Team Eggman.

Previews of the game's cutscenes are also shown, emphasizing Eggman and Dodonpa, as well as the evil scientist using the Wisps and receiving help from several Egg Pawns, which have a completely new design for this game.
