In a recent interview with Gamespot, Blizzard producer Pete Stilwell said there are currently no plans to develop a Warcraft IV, although he did not rule out the possibility of making a new game in the franchise in the near future. According to Pete: "I wouldn’t rule anything out, but we don’t have any plans for Warcraft IV at this time. Getting Warcraft III: Reforged right, I believe, is our priority first and foremost."
In the same interview, Stilwell said that Warcraft III: Reforged aims to bring real-time strategy fans back to Blizzard.
Blizzard will probably wait to see whether the remaster of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is a sales success before venturing into a new title in this classic strategy game franchise.
Warcraft III was originally released in 2002 and will soon receive a version called Warcraft III: Reforged, as we have already reported here at Epic Play.
