SEGA's Wonder Boy franchise has recently received several new games from different developers. In addition to the new entry in the series released in December, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, there was also a remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, which is better known in Brazil through its Brazilian adaptation, Turma da Mônica em: O Resgate.
But beyond those games, there was also a remake of the first Wonder Boy, which initially received a PC version on Steam and was later ported to PS4. The game is a blend of remake and sequel to the original, retaining the traditional gameplay of the series' first title, in which players move through linear stages, collect fruit, and attack enemies. This is somewhat different from the action games with RPG elements for which the franchise later became best known.
Unfortunately, anyone hoping to play the game on PS4 in Brazil was out of luck, as it is not available on the Brazilian PSN, only the American store and other regions. Since the game had no physical release, the only options were to get the PC version or create an account in another PSN region. But because Brazilian credit cards are not accepted, buying a PSN card for another region would cost more than the game's normal price.
But there is good news: Strictly Limited Games announced on its Facebook page that it will release a limited physical version of the game for PS4. Sales are scheduled for two times: midnight on January 27 in Central European Time (9:00 p.m. on January 26 in Brazil) and 6:00 p.m. that same day (3:00 p.m. on January 27 in Brazil). The game will come in a standard edition and a limited edition with additional items. The standard edition will cost around R$108.00, while the limited edition will cost around R$194.00, excluding shipping of about R$30.00. The limited edition will include a special box with artwork based on the original Master System cover, a soundtrack CD, a keychain, a sticker sheet, and a cloth bag. If you are interested in getting a copy of the game, only 1,700 copies of the standard edition will be produced, while the limited edition will receive 1,300, so it truly is a limited release. A few minutes before sales begin, log in to their website and also log in to PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, we suggest creating one.
When sales begin, refresh the page immediately and click to buy. You will save time by already being logged in to the website. In addition, choosing to pay through PayPal means you will not have to spend time entering your credit card information, saving more time and helping you secure a copy. Since this is Wonder Boy, the game is likely to sell out very quickly!
