Once again, SEGA's Yakuza franchise is in the headlines for the wrong reasons. According to information from The Japan Times, Japanese actor and comedian Hiroyuki Miyasako, who played Tsuyoshi Nagumo in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, was suspended by the agency where he works after indications that he might have ties to organized crime.
According to the reports, Hiroyuki Miyasako, along with other comedians, performed at an event five years ago that was allegedly organized by a criminal group. Receiving payment for this type of appearance was the reason for suspending all the actors who took part in the alleged party.
In a statement released by the agency, Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., it said:
"Although the comedians were unaware that the gathering had been organized by a criminal group, we still consider the payment received for the service a very serious matter."

This is not the first time that actors from the Yakuza franchise have become involved in something of this kind. Actor Pierre Taki, from Judgment, was recently replaced after reports widely covered his involvement with illegal drug use. Taki was replaced by another actor at the time. Since Yakuza 6 was released some time ago, we do not know whether something similar will happen with Miyasako.
