After five years without Breaking Bad, good news emerged for fans: one of the most acclaimed series of recent years will have a film.

It has not yet been announced whether the film will be released in theaters or made for television, but we do know that Vince Gilligan is involved, according to Variety.

For those unfamiliar with him, Vince Gilligan is the writer and director of Breaking Bad. It is therefore believed that the risk of the film being completely different from the series is much lower, which may comfort fans.

Nothing about the film's story has been revealed so far, and it is not known whether it will be directly connected to the series, such as being a prequel to Better Call Saul, or whether it will be a continuation or parallel story to Breaking Bad.

The only information released so far came from The Albuquerque Journal, which said the film will tell the story of a kidnapped man seeking his freedom and may be titled Greenbriar. The source also says filming will begin in mid-November and continue through February.
