My Hero Academia, an action anime centered on the adventures of Midoriya and his class of superheroes, proved to be the most watched anime by Brazil's population in 2018, according to Crunchyroll's list of the most watched anime, a streaming platform dedicated to Japanese animation.

Most of South America chose to follow the adventures of Deku and Class 1-A in 2018, including Brazil. The exceptions on the continent were Ecuador, Guyana, and Suriname, where Boruto, the anime about Naruto's son, prevailed, and French Guiana, where the country's most watched anime was Black Clover.

The protagonist is inspired by the achievements of his great idol, All Might. The series is one of the biggest successes in the Shonen genre, with a live-action film from Legendary Pictures in production and a fourth season confirmed.
