The photos show the following characters:
Geralt, played by Henry Cavill

Yennefer, played by Anya Chalotra
Ciri, played by Freya Allan
Character images were also shared by Henry Cavill himself on Instagram.
Because it is an adaptation of the original material—the books by Andrzej Sapkowski—the series will try to remain as faithful as possible to the story's Polish roots. Its events and atmosphere will therefore differ from those of the CD Projekt RED games, which are also based on the books but took greater creative liberties in adapting the material to the video-game medium.

The games, in turn, present a more Americanized version of The Witcher story. They have enjoyed critical and commercial success since the first title in 2007, winning awards such as Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2015, earned by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The series will therefore certainly offer a way to introduce many fans of the games to the material that inspired them.
The Witcher will be released on Netflix in late 2019, and its first season will have eight episodes.
