After a long period of speculation, discussions and a private CinemaCon screening with two Sonic trailers, Paramount has finally released the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog online. Mixing live action with CGI, the film will be the hedgehog's first appearance in his own story on the big screen. Watch the trailer in English:
The Sonic trailer also received a dubbed version, with Manolo Rey providing the hedgehog's voice. No information was released about the official dubbing group.
Sonic the Hedgehog will be about Sonic (Ben Schwartz), a blue hedgehog who runs at the speed of sound and, after ending up on planet Earth through an accident, will have to rely on the help of Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), a police officer from the small town of Green Hills, to recover the power rings before the evil Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) can get them. The film will be directed by Jeff Fowler, produced by Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious), with Tim Miller (Deadpool director) serving as executive producer. The film will premiere in theaters in November.
Paramount is also producing a live-action Dora the Explorer film.
