Stan Lee, known to many fans as the creator of iconic characters such as Spider-Man, X-Men, Hulk, and Iron Man, died today (11/12), according to his daughter in a report to TMZ.
According to the site, an ambulance arrived to help the artist, who was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where he died. The cause of his death is not yet known.
Stan Lee had been suffering from some illnesses during the previous year, including pneumonia that required hospitalization for recovery, as well as vision problems.
"My father loved all his fans; he was the greatest and the most decent man," said J.C. Lee, Stan's daughter.

Successful career
Stanley Martin Lieber, also known by the nickname Stan Lee, was born on December 28, 1922, in New York City. Legions of fans around the world knew him as one of the people responsible for shaping the Marvel universe as we know it today, creating unforgettable characters such as Daredevil, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, Thor, and many others.
The friendly and iconic comic-book creator was also recognized as the world's highest-paid writer. People With Money reported this Sunday that Lee was the highest-paid writer, earning an astonishing $46 million between October 2017 and October 2018, almost $20 million ahead of the second place.
He also became well known for special appearances in Marvel films and games. One of his last appearances was in Marvel's Spider-Man, exclusive to PS4. He was still expected to have one last scene in Avengers 4, scheduled for release in May 2019.
